FIRE LACROSSE - WINTER 2018 PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

The Fire Lacrosse Winter 2018 Program has 3 components:

 

  • Training Membership 
  • Team Tournaments 
  • Recruiting Membership - (High School Players Only)

 

TRAINING MEMBERSHIP

 

This season we will be introducing new membership pricing that we feel better suits our families because it splits the cost of training and tournaments. Going forward, each player will become a member and pay a membership fee. This membership fee covers:

 

  • Training fees for HLT, team practices and Run Club
  • Coaches stipends for practices
  • Field space 
  • Equipment
  • Administrative costs

Eligibility: Any player that meets the skill requirements.

 

Participation: As a member of Fire Lacrosse you are welcome and expected to attend all training sessions which will require a 4.5 hour commitment per week.

 

Membership Duration & Breaks: The Training Membership is a 9 week program and has the following breaks:

 

  • Thanksgiving - 11/19 to 11/25
  • Christmas - 12/17 to 1/6

Team Practices (9 sessions): The Team Practice is the format we are all familiar with. It works primarily on getting a team on the same page, developing a good work ethic and a highly competitive attitude. Team Practices generally focus on the following:

 

  • Warm ups
  • Stick work
  • Competition Drills (3v2, 4v3, 6v6, Numbers, etc.)
  • Situational Drills (Man Up & Man Down, clearing, 2 minutes left in game, etc.)

HLT Training (9 Sessions): The HLT Training Sessions are designed to build each player’s speed, strength, and agility on the field. These sessions will be 90 minutes in length and are instructed by Lyndsey Munoz who currently has her NASM certification in personal training, and will soon have her NCSA certification in strength and conditioning.

 

Run Club (9 sessions): The Run Club sessions are designed to build each player’s endurance on the field. Being in top physical shape will help each player perform at their best come tournament time, when we are faced with multiple games in a day. Run Club is a one hour session and takes place on the beach.

 

RECRUITING MEMBERSHIP

 

The Recruiting Membership includes the following:

 

  • RecruIting Seminar in early November
  • 2x 1 on 1 sessions with recruiting director Maddy Morrissey
  • Access to SportsRecruits.com 
  • 2 Hour Highlight Reel Workshop at the end of January

TEAM TOURNAMENTS

 

This season, each tournament will be priced out and charged separately. The tournament fee will include the following:

 

  • Tournament fee
  • Coaches stipend
  • Coaches travel costs 
  • Administrative costs

Below are some basic guidelines regarding the tournaments:

 

  • You have to be a member to play tournaments.
  • You have to attend HLT, Run Club and team practices in order to be eligible to play tournaments - Training is NOT optional.
  • You can be a member and not play tournaments.
  • Minimum roster size is 13 field players and 1 goalie
  • Maximum roster size is 18-20 Players 
  • Players can sign up for tournaments based on the practice depth chart.

 

The Tournament Registration are what we call "waitlist registrations". That means that they are active and you can register, but you will not be charged. We do this because the tournaments are participation dependent. This fall/winter we will only attend those tournaments for which we have a complete roster. If we have a completed roster by the deadline, we will take everyone off the waitlist and you will then be asked to make payment to complete the process. Both President's Cup and Sandstorm are invite-only.
